Our first day at Xerocon Melbourne 2017 was filled with great surprises, cool product unveilings and awe-inspiring keynotes from various speakers. After Xerocon ended, we could tell that Xerocon went based on our expectations, and that the team and I had a very good time as we attended the conference.
Technology Making A Smaller World
In an opening keynote from Rod Drury, CEO and Founder of Xero he said:
“Xero partners are already working together to create virtual international consulting services. You simply have to work on a global platform nowadays – and that’s an incredibly disruptive thought.”
It was 3 years ago since I attended the first Xerocon that was held in Australia, and there was a debate on whether accounting outsourcing should also be done in the Philippines. As I remembered there was only a handful of us Filipinos who are at the event that time.
But last week was different, for we were surprised that we saw many Asian partners from the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong (Thanks to Christian Antono, Xero’s Global account manager for acquainting us with them.). Truly, with the help of technology, the world is getting smaller.
Partying the Night Off
Usually, I was never too keen on attending parties. There are those times when I would just sit down and relax during Gala nights. This year was different, for our team have a great time partying at Xerocon!
Everyone seems to be nice and relaxed!
You can just dance with anyone, and DJ plays the best music.
You can still communicate and network with other partners outside.
The food was very good (kitchen was beside it!)
I got the chance to meet with Bruce Philipps of HPC – United States
Xerocon was indeed a fun-filled yet great learning experience for me and the team. Kudos to all the people who organized this event. It’s really a great pleasure for us to become a part of this conference. See you this December in Xerocon Austin, Texas!
